STEADY - Learning Patience

"Rome wasn’t built in a day," they say,

Yet we dream of castles made right away.

Let’s take a stroll through history’s tales,

Where haste met folly, and patience prevails.

Joe baked a cake, in quite a rush,

Skipped the flour, went all in on mush.

The oven beamed, the batter sighed—

A lump of regret was what he fried!

Mike hit the gym for a six-pack dream,

Lifted twice, and let out a scream.

Checked the mirror—still round and stout,

"Why am I not ripped?" he pouted with doubt.

Sophie aimed for a masterpiece grand,

Dipped her brush, let her colors expand.

But blobs and streaks did not obey—

She sobbed, "I thought it’d work in a day!"

Tim planted seeds at dawn’s first light,

Then dug them up by noon in fright.

"They haven’t grown! This soil’s a sham!"

The plants just rolled their roots in damn.

A boy bought a violin, oh what glee!

But his first note made the cat climb a tree.

"Where’s my Mozart?" he cried in despair—

Talent needs time, not just fresh air!

Lucy danced, with dreams so bright,

Posted her reel, awaited the light.

A like… a share… then all stood still—

"Am I not viral? Do tell me, Bill!"

Tom ran a mile, his lungs were sore,

Declared, "That’s it, I run no more!"

"Didn’t you plan for months ahead?"

"Nah," said Tom, "I thought it’d spread!"

Jake met Kate and knelt in glee,

"Marry me now, let’s skip to three!"

Kate just blinked and walked away—

"Love ain't a race," the wise ones say.

A builder boasted, "Fastest in town!"

Built a house, but it all fell down.

Walls so weak, the wind just laughed—

"Next time, try patience, and build with craft!"

Mia craved pasta, but "Boiling? Too slow!"

So she ate raw noodles, "Oh heavens, no!"

Her jaw still clicks to this very day—

Patience, dear chef, is the Italian way!

Rick wrote poems, dashed in a blink,

Published them fast, no time to think.

Critics read, then sighed in pain—

"Perhaps next time, revise again?"

And so, dear reader, hear me say,

Great things take time—they find their way.

So if you dream of fortune or fame,

Slow down, my friend—life’s not a game!
